Hi, my name is Jan. I have worked at AlbaVet for nearly four years now and I am about to sit my first year nursing exams this summer and so hopefully will start my final year in August. I am already a qualified animal nursing assistant and love all aspects of my job.

A particular interest of mine is alternative health, and I am a qualified Reiki practitioner. I try to use this experience in the care of my patients, and encourage the use of emergency essence in the practice for all those nervous kittys.

When dealing with the weight management club I provide ongoing support to the clients and their animals, which I find a particularly rewarding aspect of my job, as you see the difference shedding pounds (or should I say kilograms) can make to the overall health of a pet. I also enjoy working with our in-patients and providing one to one care on a daily basis.

I hope to qualify next year and possibly do homeopathy to compliment our veterinary care here. In the meantime I continue to care for my own cats, George, a silver tabby, and Tia, a tortoiseshell longhair. I also have a border collie called Lady.
